Striving for excellence
The majority of Affiliate Members are travel counsellors. The balance
are educators, wholesalers and product suppliers who see value in being
a member of the only organization for individual travel professionals
in Canada. Many Affiliates are enrolled for Travel Counsellor Certification
and are pursuing their CTC designation.
By working in the travel industry and taking advantage of their membership
with CITC, Affiliate Members gain the expertise and knowledge required
to meet consumer demand for travel counsellors who offer technological
know-how, travel "counselling", people skills, sales skills,
destination knowledge, product knowledge, up-to-date information on insurance
coverage, travel documentation, travel medical clinic referrals and all
the important details that can have a huge impact on the quality of trip.
If you are registered to complete travel counsellor certification based
on the 2007 model you will automatically receive the benefits of Affiliate
Membership as part of your certification enrollment.
If you are a travel industry supplier or travel counsellor interested
solely in maintaining contact with CITC in order to receive wide-ranging
benefits (including publication discounts and event
information), education, promotions to consumers and industry,
you may retain Affiliate Membership on an annual basis for a fee of $ 75 plus applicable taxes. However, this fee does not entitle you to certification
benefits.
