Registration Procedures
- All registrations for exams must be made through the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors (CITC), which is administering the exam on behalf of TICO.
- You may write the exam anytime you please and anywhere you please, as long as you have the proper equipment and an approved proctor to supervise the process However, if you do choose to write in an agency or office, you must ensure that the proctor can clearly see all the exam candidates at the same time. Venues where people are tucked away in cubicles or offices may need to have 2-3 proctors to supervise the exam. Also, if writing in an office/agency/home, the desks used to write the exam must be clear of all papers, files and books.
- CITC/TICO maintain a list of Proctored Venues that some candidates may find convenient. Each venue lists specific dates on which they can accommodate candidates to write the exam in their facility, using the facility's computers and using an approved proctor. There is usually a fee, paid to the Venue, for this service.
- You are required to register for the Tico Exam(s) at least 14 days prior to your chosen writing date.
- If you have not already done so – please review the “Overview of the Process" before beginning your registration. This will save you time as you start to complete the application.
Note 1: If you intend to request to have your results sent to a third party (eg. Manager or Trainer), then you must submit the Third Party Authorization Form at the time you register. Forms require a signature and therefore they can be faxed to the CITC office on the same day that you register. Please note that a new form must be submitted each time you write (or re-write) an exam.
Note 2: If you are requesting any type of a accommodation to address a special need, then you must submit the Special Needs Accommodation Form at the time you register. Forms require a signature and therefore they can be faxed to the CITC office on the same day that you register. |
