- Five Star....
    
Similar to hotel star rating systems, a travel program receives stars based on the number of inclusions it offers, for example: travel services specific curriculum hours, field placement, live GDS training.
If a travel program does not meet all the criteria for Full Endorsement
then Provisional Endorsement (P) may be granted for a maximum of two years,
while they works towards satisfying the additional criteria.

The Advanced Diploma program is recognized on a national level for the degree of training provided. Students are taught comprehensive advanced training in airline tariff and ticketing, product and destination awareness and in-depth travel sales and marketing, domestic and international procedures to prepare them for a wide variety of tourism-related occupations.
Four week work experience training is provided. Group Travel: Design & Marketing, Live Sabre Red and LIVE Galileo airline reservation systems are studied as part of the diploma program. Student loans, scholarships, grants and payment plans are available for eligible applicants.

The Continuing Education Department of the Faculty of Commerce
and Business Administration offers a Part-Time Travel and
Tourism Certificate Program. Instruction is thirteen hours
per week, offered Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.30 - 9.30 pm, and
Saturdays 8.30 am - 4.30 pm. This flexible program can be
completed in one year although students have up to two years
to complete.

MTI Community College Vancouver offers Travel
and Tourism Diploma program is recognized by the Canadian Institute
of Travel Counsellors at the national level. Our program offers
students an opportunity to achieve a level of academic education
and skills, which meet the needs of the tourism industry both
in Canada and worldwide.
The program extensively covers areas
of airline and airport operations, online computer reservation
and ticketing, E-commerce and E-ticketing, insurance, travel
and business management, world tourism geography, rail transportation,
cruises, car rentals, hotel front desk administration, customer
relations and super hosts. Students who successfully complete
the course would be eligible to write the CITC Knowledge Exam
and provincial insurance exam that are more readily becoming
mandatory components in the tourism industry.
The program is delivered in a classroom setting and also
involves practical field trips to reinforce the classroom
theory. The program is taught by CTC designated instructors
with experience in the Travel & Tourism industry. The
college has campuses in Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam
