Industry first
The Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors (CITC) was born on June 30, 1963 as a response to the rising need for training and professional development in a rapidly changing industry. When it was officially incorporated on September 19, 1968, CITC became the first incorporated association of travel professionals in Canada.
Today, CITC has over 3,000 members, making it the largest professional institute for individual travel counsellors in Canada. Professionals who display the designations CTC (Certified Travel Counsellor) and CTM (Certified Travel Manager) can be found throughout the travel industry as travel counsellors, agency owners and managers, tour operators, employees of tourist attractions, provincial and country-specific travel organizations or education and training establishments. |
